Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust PPI Forum

The Forums will play a vital role in making sure patients’ and the public’s views are heard and acted on by all those involved in making decisions.  The functions of the Forums have been laid down by law; this means they will have real power to make a difference, not just discussion groups.

The Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust PPI Forum is concerned with the care of all patients of Yeovil District Hospital, no matter where they live. The Forum would like to hear the views of members of the public about any aspects of care, whether in the hospital, or other related matters, such as transport difficulties in getting to the hospital.

• The closure of inpatient beds at South Petherton Hospital, with the probability that this will add to the pressure on beds at Yeovil District Hospital
• Outbreaks of infection at the hospital (despite infection control measures in place)
• Public transport from some areas served by the hospital is poor, and car parking at the hospital site is limited
• Closure of South Petherton hospital, with possible problems for those who are currently patients, and possible pressure on other community services and hospitals
